About Unashamed Missions
What we do:
We serve God. Whether He calls us to build a church in some remote part of a Central-American jungle, rebuild a failing bridge in the mountains or make Him known in a village who has rarely seen a white man, we do whatever He asks and we have a great time doing it.
What we believe:
We believe that the Bible, Old and New Testaments in the original autographs, is the inspired, infallible Word of God, a complete and final written revelation of God. Basically, if the Bible says it, we believe it. We do not add to it or take anything away.
We also believe in the promise of Deuteronomy 11:13-15 "So if you faithfully obey the commands I am giving you today—to love the LORD your God and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul- then I will send rain on your land in its season, both autumn and spring rains, so that you may gather in your grain, new wine and oil. I will provide grass in the fields for your cattle, and you will eat and be satisfied." If we love and serve the Lord with all of our hearts, he will provide for us and we will be satified.
We also believe what Jesus tells us in John 10:27 "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me". We know His voice and listen carefully to what direction He would have us go. If we are constantly moving toward Him, He will guide and direct us. Our trips are carefully planned to get into the country and for what He would have us do while there, but once the journey has begun, we simply listen for what He would have us do and we do it. A good example of this comes from our trip to La Balsa to rebuild the bridge. We had carefully planned what we would do and how we would do it. When we arrived, the airlines lost our bags with the tools and supplies we had brought that we thought were necessary to rebuild the bridge. All we had were two hammers and the Lord guiding us. We proceeded to hike into the bridge anyway and as it turned out, the tools and supplies we tried to bring would not have worked anyway. The Lord provided a method and exactly the supplies we needed as we needed them and we finished early.
