Inglesia Santidad Amor y Vida - Church in the Village of Linda Miller, Honduras
In October of 2008, Unashamed Missions in conjunction with Med Missions led a team from Heritage Church in Watauga, Texas to build this church in Villa Linda Miller. The church was built in a small village outside of Tegucigalpa, Honduras named after the wife of the philanthropist who built the village. The village was built for the people who live in the Tegucigalpa Sanitary Landfill (Dump). This trip included medical, dental and eyeglass clinics to the people living in the dump and to those in the surrounding areas. We were also able to do door to door evangelism in the village. Over 60 people in the village were led to Christ and the entire community got involved with the building of the church and the inauguration ceremonies at the end of the trip. The church was filled to capacity for the inauguration.
Heritage Church sponsored and assisted in the construction of this church prior to constructing a facility of their own. It was a joy working with this great team of God's servants.
In Tegucigalpa, numerous homeless people-men, women, and children-scrape out a living by scavenging through heaps of garbage, searching for scraps of food and recyclable materials. It is a pitiful existence.
Several years ago Pastor Johnny began ministering to this population. He started a school for the "dump children." Their parents were resistant to let them attend at first, because the children's scavenging contributed to the family income. So Johnny agreed to pay the parents a small fee for each day that their children attend school. He feeds them and educates them. More than that, he gives them the hope of a better future.

We held medical, dental and vision clinics in the dump and surrounding areas. Of the many who came to the health services outreach more than 100 individuals gave their hearts to the Lord!
A longtime dream of Pastor Jeony became a reality. Adjacent to the city dump, this 2000+ square foot church was built in the heart of this spiritually needy area. Now Pastor Jeony and local believers can meet weekly and reach out to the residents of the dump.
We always have lots of fun with the local kids.
